HELLO!
I’m Nicole Mougianis
How it all started
When my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my very confident answer was to own a day spa or become a family doctor. And hey, here we are.
I used to lovingly force my family members to sit in my makeshift spa as I slathered their legs in lotion in an attempt to melt away their stress and heal their ailments. Eventually, I helped my great-grandmother suffering from strokes with her physical therapy and knew this would never be something I tire of - something I’ll never take for granted.
We are constantly being bombarded - to-do lists, work-life balance, family, our phones, and somewhere at the bottom of the list, selfcare. Everything is fighting for our attention all at once, and we must prioritize ourselves now more than ever. Our ability to heal and even to allow space for it is becoming increasingly important and necessary. Finding what works best for you can be a daunting process, but you don’t have to go at it alone, I’m here to take the journey with you.
The why
It is an honor to walk alongside the people who trust me with their healing journey. I learn about you, root for you, cry with you, and find what works best for you. Whether it’s talking through a new treatment or just holding space for a bit of peace in your life that day, I love what I do.
There are a lot of misconceptions about the effectiveness of acupuncture, the fear of needles, and the unknown that comes with the world of health. I know because I’ve been there. You can trust me when I say we’ll get you where you want to be.
self care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity
The personal sh*t
Other than the fact that I curse like a sailor, all you need to know about me will be apparent from our first interaction. I feel so lucky to be here and get to do what I love. When I’m not in the office, I’m either with the friends I’ve known since we were kids or Zeno, my rescue mix, who I love more than life itself. Or with my family and the strong women who made even stronger coffee.
I am grateful to have known most of my great-grandparents. Growing up Greek, family was #1. I cherish those memories because they were simpler times with incredible people who had an immense impact on how I see life. I am a bit of an espresso addict and grew up with coffee from a very young age (unbeknownst to my mother) because my great-grandmother would serve us cafe with our koulourakia (greek twist cookies), a recipe I am still trying to perfect. My poor mom, who has always an inspiration to me, was chasing around caffeinated kids for a lot of her days.
